DetailsThey say the devil is in the details, but we don't buy it. While giving old Beelzebub his due, what we find in the details is delight! This is the trick stuff, when we really get to hone our skills. It's the stuff we write home about. One mark of a really good project is as you look closer and closer, the work keeps getting more interesting. So imagine what it's like to look at a timber column scribed to a domed rock, and not be able to tell whether it was the wood or the stone that was cut. That's something to brag about. But the well conceived and executed details are also what really complete a place. Such work adds immeasurably to the feeling of satisfaction in a home whether it is harmoniously composed railings, an integrated stairway, a specially carved beam or a naturally curved timber joined into the frame. When it's right, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts! [we'll be adding more pictures very soon] |
