This home is located on the tip of Samish Island and is designed to weather the storm. It features 360 views of the surrounding landscape of sea and sky where the wind always blows. It sits on the beach just above high tide and is built on a raised slab on grade to minimize potential flood damage.Concrete floors throughout are perfect for the sandy beach environment. All entries to the home are protected with porches. The stout timber frame is enclosed with Structural Insulated Panels, SIPS, which in addition to being energy efficient effectively reduce the noise level of the howling winds outside. This home serves it's active family well in what sometimes is a very harsh environment.
